Free People Dress (similar here), Pumps, Saint Laurent Bag, J.Crew Earrings (similar here)

When spring has arrived, but there is snow in the forecast - what better way to spend to spend an afternoon than staying indoors and gazing up at the stars? The Baltimore Museum of Art currently has two exhibits on display that are for the dreamers…

“Moon Dust” is a perfect example of the harmony of when science meets art. The artist, Spencer Finch, created an impressive light installation representing the chemical composition of moon dust gathered from the Apollo 17 mission. The diameter of each globe corresponds to the size of an atom - small globes represent helium, while the larger oxygen. This exhibit is breathtaking and it also makes my nerdy little heart beat with excitement!

The second exhibit, "Entangled Orbits" by Tomas Saraceno features installations inspired by clouds, bubbles, and spider webs that are suspended across entire rooms. I love how the artist captures the iridescent shimmer of bubbles. Secretly, many of us dream about playing with bubbles the size of cars. It is incredibly beautiful and inspiring.

I'm a huge fan of the monochromatic palette when putting together an outfit, favoring creams and neutrals regardless of the time of year. I often look for versatile pieces that transition well between the seasons and this midi dress fits those criteria really well. Made from lightweight cotton, the fabric makes it an ideal summer dress, but it's easily paired with a jacket or trench for spring or fall. The dress is also perfect for dressing up or down; add some sandals and a straw tote and you have the great look for a beach vacation. I definitely plan on wearing it from spring to fall this year!

Take Me Out To A Ballgame

April 11, 2017

LOCATION: BALTIMORE • APRIL 11th, 2017

Outfit Details:
Madewell Shirt, Jeans, Tote Bag; Converse Sneakers, Ray-Ban Sunglasses, Baseball Hat

It's Orioles Season! Opening Day Festivities kicked off the 2017 season last week at Camden Yard. To be completely honest, while most of Baltimore was gearing up for baseball season, I was having a meltdown due to the pending NCAA National Championship game with UNC vs. Gonzaga. And now that UNC has won (Go Heels!), I can return to cheering on our city's most beloved sports team!

I practically live in these v-neck tees and jeans from Madewell and it is my go to off-duty look. Their clothes are so comfortable, the fit is amazing, and the t-shirt comes in an array of colors! All you need is to throw on a hat of your favorite sports team and you have an instant game day outfit!

The world of baseball is relatively new to me - the last time I attended a game was probably in middle school where my choir class sang the National Anthem! Last year was the first time I'd ever been to a MLB game and I look forward to spending more warm evenings with friends cheering on the Orioles.

Next time you visit Camden Yard, don't miss the Cheaspeake Fries - crab dip topped waffle fries with Old Bay. You won't regret it!

National Stripes Day

March 31, 2017

LOCATION: BALTIMORE • March 31th, 2017

Outfit Details:
J.Crew Jumpsuit, Illesteva Sunglasses, Ann Taylor Heels, Kate Spade Clutch, BaubleBar Earrings

Happy National Stripe Day!!! Yes, I know this is a completely made up by J.Crew, but this is one imaginary holiday I can definitely get behind. Haha, stripes are pretty much a staple of my wardrobe, my go-to "color" that works for every season and occasion. This wide-legged jumpsuit has been a great transitional piece for spring and easily dressed up or down depending on your mood.

Blue and white is my favorite color combination when it comes to stripes (here and here). The trick to wearing stripes is to pick an item that has narrower stripes, regardless of whether or not they are vertical or horizontal. Smaller stripes will elongate your body, giving you a polished look. With a full body print, it's best to pair the outfit with solid colors like I did with my pink sunnies, heels, and purse.

Recently, I'm fully embraced the jumper/romper trend, learning that the key to finding a good jumper is to find a cut that flatters your shape. A lot of jumpers tend to pull at the torso on me, so somethings I have to size up or find ones that are more flowy in nature. I love this wide-legged jumper since it's gives the illusion that I'm wearing a dress!

Fell's Point was one of the first places I fell in love with when I moved to Baltimore. Beloved by locals and tourists alike, the historic waterfront neighborhood is lined with charming rowhouses and cobblestone roads and there are plenty of amazing restaurants and bars to explore. Some of my favorite spots to check out include Thames Oyster House for dinner & Pitango for gelato!

Feminine Ruffle

February 7, 2017

LOCATION: BALTIMORE • FEBRUARY 7th, 2017

Outfit Details:
J. Crew Jacket, Club Monaco Dress (sold out, sweater version here), Elizabeth & James Sunglasses, Joie Boots, Jaeger Bag

I can't believe we are already a week into February! It's so nice to have settled back into a routine after taking many short trips over the holidays. I've been challenging myself to get out of the house even when it's so cold out. It's so hard when all I long for is sunshine. I really want to explore more of Baltimore this year and be able to share that with you readers!

In the afternoon, we stopped by one of our favorite coffee shops in the neighborhood for a quick pick-me-up. They have the best pastries in Baltimore - both sweet and savory kinds, and their Vietnamese Iced Coffee is superb!

I picked up this sweater dress from Club Monaco on one of our recent trips down to DC. I was instantly in love when I saw the delicate ruffles peeking out from under the collar and cuffs. The merino wool is incredibly soft and cozy. Turns out, both Danny and I are a sucker for ruffles!

Over-the-knee boot are all the rage these days and if you have been searching for a good Stuart Weitzman alternative, then look no further. The Joie pair are perfect! Since moving further north to Baltimore, I have found wearing dresses in the winter to be extra challenging since I rather be warm than stylish. These boots allow for both - their versatility allows them to be paired with jeans and an oversized sweater more a more casual look.

Which are your favorite cafes in Baltimore? I'd love to here about them!

Tiffany

Christmas Tree Farm

December 23, 2016

LOCATION: MARYLAND • DECEMBER 23TH, 2016

Outfit Details:
Tiffany - J.Crew Coat, Sweater, Skirt, Scarf; DKNY Tights, L.L.Bean Boots
Danny - J.Crew Sweater, Shirt, Pants; Sorel Boots

We have our first Christmas tree!!! Two weeks ago, Danny and I visited a local Christmas tree farm (Davidson Farm) and picked out a small tree for our apartment. We didn't get a tree last year since we were traveling through Asia for most of December. This was also my first time going to a tree farm and I was so excited for the adventure!

I have a habit of underestimating the height of a Christmas trees, once hauling home an 11 foot tree! It looked 7 feet to me. Fortunately, my parents had enough space. It barely fit through the door and I had to sit on top of a step ladder to decorate it! Danny and I agreed to pick out one that was only a few inches taller than him to make sure it would fit in our apartment. Turns out, it's a lot of work to saw and tow even a six foot tree!

J.Crew did not sponsor this post, but they might as well have! Haha, I didn't realize we were a walking ad for them until I started tagging the outfit for the post. The Lady Day Coat with Thinsulate is my all time favorite coat! It is incredibly feminine and stylish, without compromising on warmth. I love wearing white in the winter; when paired with this wool mini skirt, it makes for a great holiday outfit. Duck boots are a must if you live in a place that snows - either L.L.Bean or Sorel, you can't go wrong!

Our talented friend Vanessa was sweet enough to join us and take holiday photos for us! It is way more fun getting to shoot together with both of us in front of the camera.

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas!
