Christmas Tree Farm

December 23, 2016

LOCATION: MARYLAND • DECEMBER 23TH, 2016

Outfit Details:
Tiffany - J.Crew Coat, Sweater, Skirt, Scarf; DKNY Tights, L.L.Bean Boots
Danny - J.Crew Sweater, Shirt, Pants; Sorel Boots

We have our first Christmas tree!!! Two weeks ago, Danny and I visited a local Christmas tree farm (Davidson Farm) and picked out a small tree for our apartment. We didn't get a tree last year since we were traveling through Asia for most of December. This was also my first time going to a tree farm and I was so excited for the adventure!

I have a habit of underestimating the height of a Christmas trees, once hauling home an 11 foot tree! It looked 7 feet to me. Fortunately, my parents had enough space. It barely fit through the door and I had to sit on top of a step ladder to decorate it! Danny and I agreed to pick out one that was only a few inches taller than him to make sure it would fit in our apartment. Turns out, it's a lot of work to saw and tow even a six foot tree!

J.Crew did not sponsor this post, but they might as well have! Haha, I didn't realize we were a walking ad for them until I started tagging the outfit for the post. The Lady Day Coat with Thinsulate is my all time favorite coat! It is incredibly feminine and stylish, without compromising on warmth. I love wearing white in the winter; when paired with this wool mini skirt, it makes for a great holiday outfit. Duck boots are a must if you live in a place that snows - either L.L.Bean or Sorel, you can't go wrong!

Our talented friend Vanessa was sweet enough to join us and take holiday photos for us! It is way more fun getting to shoot together with both of us in front of the camera.

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas!

Maui Sunrise

December 14, 2016

LOCATION: MAUI • DECEMBER 14TH, 2016

Outfit Details:
Zara Dress, Madewell Belt, Boater Hat

One of the most beautiful mornings I have ever experienced was seeing the sunrise at Big Beach. While this location is usually a hot tourist spot, it was completely empty aside from a man walking his dogs. We waited patiently for the sun to rise behind the mountain and watched as the sky changed into dazzling pinks and blues.

Everyone should experience at least one sunrise in Hawaii. I am completely not a morning person either so I have a lot of trouble getting up early. The views in Hawaii are so breathtaking that it was 100% worth getting up for! It was a great way to take advantage of our jet lag since we flew in from the east coast.

I have been completely in love with striped off-the-shoulder tops and this Zara dress was a great reason to own another one.  This may be my third blue, striped, off-the-shoulder piece this year! Clearly you can see how crazy I am about it! I loved how it doubles as a beach coverup and can be worn with or without a belt. You will definitely be seeing me rocking this trend all next year.

After a morning at the beach, head over to Wow Wow Hawaiian Lemonade for Maui's best acai bowls and handcrafted drinks. Highly recommend the Pitaya or the No ka' Oi Bowl and the Strawberry Mint was my go-to lemonade!

The Barnes Foundation

December 12, 2016

LOCATION: PHILADELPHIA • DECEMBER 12TH, 2016

Outfit Details:
Club Monaco Top (updated version here, last seen here), Madewell Jeans, Eileen Fisher Booties, Altar'd State Scarf (similar here), Anthropologie Hat, Madewell Tote

One of the perks of living in Baltimore is now we are a drive away from many cities we haven’t visited before! Some friends recently moved to Philadelphia so we took a long weekend trip up to stay with them and explore the city. The last time I was in Philly I was in college and this was Danny’s first time. My girlfriend reminded us that on the first Sunday of each month, The Barnes Foundation offers free admission! So Danny and I got up early to stand in line for tickets and returned after lunch for our 1 p.m. entrance time. Tickets are on a first-come, first-served basis, so I highly recommend getting there a little before 9 a.m.

The Barnes Foundation is home to one of the world’s leading collections of French impressionist and post-impressionist paintings, including many works by Renoir, Cezanne and Matisse. Danny and I are both huge lovers of French impressionism so we knew we needed to visit. Seriously, this museum is as gorgeous of the inside as it is on the outside. I loved the surrounding gardens and reflection pools; they made for a quiet place to spend the afternoon. You completely forget you are in the center of a major city!

A lace top is a extremely versatile piece and this Club Monaco top is by far my favorite. While I am wearing last year's top, they currently have a new version that is almost identical here. You can pair it with a skirt for a uber feminine feel or dress it down with jeans and a scarf for a casual outing. Also, check out the most adorable place, Lil' Pop Shop and Cafe, for instagram-worthy decor and refreshing popsicles as an afternoon snack!

Where are your favorite places in Philly? Let me know in the comments below!

Tiffany

The Lace Detail

December 6, 2016

LOCATION: NEW YORK CITY • DECEMBER 6TH, 2016

Outfit Details:
ASOS Dress (also in blue), Elizabeth & James Sunglasses, Madewell Heels, Jaeger Bag

We took a trip to NYC at the beginning of November to celebrate with Danny's grandfather turning 101!!! Last year, we attended a huge birthday party in his honor. Meanwhile, this year, the grandchildren took turns visiting over the course of a month. It is still completely mind-blowing that Danny's grandfather is over a century old. It was wonderful to spend quality time with both his grandparents and sit in their company.

Fall had really set in with the air turning crisp during the day and the evenings becoming quite chilly. I ended up wearing this ASOS dress when the weather took a turn for the warmer. The sun came out in full and I knew it was perfect to pull this out. Of all of the lace dresses I have owned, this has got to be my favorite! I loved how effortlessly chic it looks; the weight of the fabric really adds to the quality of the dress!

After we started the day with breakfast at this cute cafe called Cafe Cluny in the West Village, Danny and I wandered down to SoHo for a bit of retail therapy. The walk is a little over a mile long and a great way to see more of the city. I love dreaming about what it would be like to actually live here as we stroll through Washington Square Park  I honestly love the walk from the West Village to SoHo as much as I love to shop!

Escape to Emerald Isle

November 14, 2016

LOCATION: EMERALD ISLE, NORTH CAROLINA • NOVEMBER 13TH, 2016

Outfit Details:
LOOK 1: J.Crew Shirt , Elizabeth & James Sunglasses, Banana Republic Shorts (old, similar here)

LOOK 2: Anthropologie Romper, Elizabeth & James Sunglasses

One of the most amazing things about living Chapel Hill, North Carolina is that within 3 hours, you can be at the beach, the lake, or the mountains - all just a weekend trip away. This is especially perfect because my mother loves the mountains and my father, the ocean.

Growing up in Chapel Hill, my family would take trips to Emerald Isle in the summertime. There is something about this quaint little beach town that draws us back year after year. It's beautiful and peaceful, with softly rolling sand dunes and brightly colored houses. There is something for everyone, whether it's chartering a boat for deep-sea fishing, renting jet skis on the sound, or walking along the boardwalk with ice-cream in hand.

When I tell people I'm from NC, they often start telling me right away about their favorite place in the state. It's almost always somewhere on the Outer Banks. Moving to Baltimore has really made me miss Emerald Isle even more. Danny's family rented a beach house this year and we drove down to spent a couple of lazy days with them.

Continuing my love affair with stripes, I picked up this classic boatneck shirt from J. Crew. I'm particularly fond of the 3/4 length sleeves and it's so comfortable that it's all I want to wear. Full confession: I bought it in red too! The shirt is really soft and a great transition piece for fall. At the beach, I paired them with white shorts and a bold lip for that pop of color and I'm planning on wearing this shirt with a statement necklace and a blazer for the colder months.

This pink romper has been one of my summer staples this year and makes a great beach coverup. I adore the cute sailboat print and how flowy the fabric is. The bow on the front is definitely a plus!

One of my must-eats in Emerald Isle is The Crab Shack with a view overlooking the sound side. Nothing says welcome like a giant basket of fresh hushpuppies and an ice cold sweet tea. Dip that hushpuppy in honey butter and you are in southern heaven (carb heaven?).  No trip to Emerald Isle is complete without indulging in their fried shrimp, oysters, and scallops!

XO,
Tiffany
